As a part of the partnership between our two local YMCAs’, a group of 10 Americans came on the Balkan Conference and were our gests more then 10 days. The CEO of the YMCA Somersethills, Bob Lomaro spent couple of days in Skopje, visiting the activities that were going on in the central office and in the training center in Radishani. On the Balkan Conference that was hold on the Lake of Ohrid, the teenagers from America took active part in the workshops, hold a workshop and were present on all the side-seeing. The whole group was very interested in Macedonian culture and background and very excited visiting different churches around Ohrid, the Fortress of Tsar Samoil, the monastery of St. Naum and the beautiful view from the mountain of Galichica on the booth lakes Prespa and Ohrid. The young volunteers from booth countries established close relationships, hoping that it will result with follow up. “I can’t wait to come back” – was the comment of one young leader from Somersethillls Y.
