Training Course for European Citizenship

Among the various training activities within the Civic Society and Inclusion Programme, aimed at supporting the young people and equipping them with the necessary knowledge for their personal development and the development of the democratic society, YMCA organizes a Training Course for European Citizenship.
This training is successfully being implemented with YMCA’s own resources, the support of several experts from the Faculty of Political Studies at the University of Sc. Cyrilus and Methodius in Skopje, and the support of the City Library “Braka Miladinovci”.

The lectures are facilitated by Andrea Tevdovski, member of YMCA, certified from the Council of Europe for European Citizenship, and Dafina Manevska, in charge of the Training course programme in YCS YMCA Macedonia.
The group of 26 young people from different Faculties from different Universities is part of the sessions which are going on every Thursday from November 2006 till April 2007. As main tools for the study sessions, the T-kit 7 “Citizenship, Youth and Europe” of the Council of Europe, studies of relevant institutions from Macedonia, sometimes presented from guests (experts) from this institutions, interesting debates proposed from the facilitators or the participants and different RPGs are being used. Programme of the sessions is presenting the history of the citizenship, its transition in the centuries, the contemporary approach of today’s experts, but also the implementation in the reality from the experience of the participants, in EU and in the countries in transition, especially Macedonia.
