CIVIC SOCIETY AND INCLUSION

YCS YMCA is youth work organization, acting for improvement of young peoples living conditions and creating conditions for young people civic activities, which promote their personal growth and citizenship skills. The aim of this Programme group is to strengthen the capacity of civic work and participation of young people and marginalized and disadvantaged groups in the society.

In 2006:
YCS YMCA provided wide range of opportunities for non- formal education and civic education, for young volunteers and leaders and different groups of young people, through many international, national and local trainings, courses and seminars, as well as cooperation, projects and networking with other NGOs in the fields of youth police, human rights, democracy building, social inclusion and position of the minorities, ecology and regional cooperation in the youth sector.
Very important part of work of this group was the training opportunities through the common events organized in the national networks, that YCS YMCA is part of or coordinating organization.
Still, our YMCA put additional efforts through the work of our leaders to maintain the internal trainings, as part of the learning process in the organization.
Through the year more trainings were organized on the subjects: Project Management, Work and Opportunities of the YOUTH Programme, Human rights education, according the manual of Council of Europe, etc. Leaders and facilitators of the trainings and workshops were young leaders of YCS YMCA, the EVS Volunteers, trainers from the European Centre for Minority Issues and OSCE.Helping and supporting the empowerment of young people through the non-formal education and following the need of improving the situation of the human rights, in 2006, YCS YMCA organized another cycle of its training course for multipliers in the area of the Education for Human Rights. This, six months lasting, training was successfully implemented by the YMCA leaders in partnership and with the support of the City Library “Braka Miladinovci”.
Taking the responsibility and challenge to organize training in a public space, know as the core of young intellectuals and well known meeting space for the high-school and student youth in Skopje, was a great courage and willingness of our YMCA to face with the young people and their real challenges and needs.
